Barbara Bulc – Reimagining Wellbeing of Communities

This talk by Barbara Bulc during the Systems Innovation conference really resonated with me. Outside of work, I have a strong connection with where I live and try to join in and contribute into making it the best place it can be.

The title of her talk was – Reimagining Wellbeing of Communities. Innovating with Values of Trust and Care. She called herself a Social Chemist and I can understand why from the following project.

The OurCluj Project ( https://ourcluj.city ) took in contribution for stakeholders across the community. They even held a meeting in a school so that even the most senior and well respected people there had to sit in small children’s chair and reflect on what it was like being so young.

Barbara highlighted the two values of Trust and Care being so important in the process of reimagining a new way forward. One that values the wellbeing of everyone in the community over profit.

For me, to change a city, as a system, with innovation is too big for my tiny brain. Or should I say too complex.

My interview with Barbara would give her a chance to share with you the reasons behind the project and also the hope that we should have for tomorrow.
