Andrew Roughan – CEO Plexal, orchestrating innovation outcomes

This was a slightly different interview in that I wasn’t interviewing one innovation centre, one manager of that place, I was speaking to Andrew Roughan, the CEO of Plexal. Plexal is a company that manages many innovation centres and co-working spaces around the UK, such as in London, Manchester and Cheltenham. In rewatching the video to summarise, I know he gave so much information and […]

Comparing Cambridge and punting around

A quick observation from my visit to Cambridge I’ve been to Cambridge twice previously. Once for a mini-break meeting friends and another time for a wedding that happened to be in one of the college halls. This visit, during Cambridge Tech Week, was the first time for anything work related. I had already been trying to contact the Bradfield Centre and St John’s Innovation Centre […]

London, Cambridge and Bletchley Park EV costs

This is the route I took and the costs involved. Left home with close to full tank, which I will call 74 kWh useable at 8.5p/kWh, so £6.30. I had to do a top up charge on the […]

Systems innovation could help bring a change because the financial and structural burden on the NHS will become unsustainable. Andy’s LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/andywilkins/ […]

Miranda Dixon – innovation project for resilient oxygen concentrators

Miranda Dixon, Collectives Leads from Brink, gave a presentation at the 2024 Systems Innovation Conference on an innovation project that delivered improved oxygen concentrators to low and middle income countries. https://www.unicef.org/innovation/resilient-oxygen-concentrators Over 700,000 children have died from their need for oxygen support. Countries that did have oxygen concentrators, devices that remove nitrogen from ambient air and feed out higher concentration levels of oxygen, would see […]

Barbara Bulc – Reimagining Wellbeing of Communities

This talk by Barbara Bulc during the Systems Innovation conference really resonated with me. Outside of work, I have a strong connection with where I live and try to join in and contribute into making it the best place it can be. The title of her talk was – Reimagining Wellbeing of Communities. Innovating with Values of Trust and Care. She called herself a Social […]
